Wasa-Nabin – Youth
Program Coordinator: Rebecca Smith
The word “Wasa-Nabin” is an Ojibway word meaning “to look forward”.
This program is designed for “at risk” urban Aboriginal youth who are from the ages of 13—18 years.
The activities of the program will focus on six areas of support;
General Social Supports
· Facilitates the assessment of required services and identifies areas of difficulties experienced by program clients;
· Supports for youth to discuss issues that are creating barriers for their success and ability to make sound choices;
· Facilitates support circles and one to one peer support opportunities;
· Increase access to healthy and safe activities to ensure youth have access to choices that promote healthy lifestyles
